SCHOOL BOXING PROGRAM

The City of Hume Boxing Club runs a 'School Boxing' program for local primary and secondary schools within the Hume community. Our School Boxing Program is designed to provide students with a complete aerobic / anaerobic workout, that utilises the skills and disciplines that is used in the sport of boxing. The idea is to re-engage students into physical activity (inside and outside of school), to increase their self control and self discipline, to increase their self esteem and well being and to attack the concerning rise in childhood obesity and other various health related issues.

Our School Boxing Program is based on a non-contact boxing session, as directed by Boxing Australia, and the Australian Sports Commission. Our experienced and qualified trainers adhere to the 'Victorian code of conduct for community sport' and have all been certified of a full police check.

Over the past year we have been working closely with the staff and students, of Mt. Ridley College. So far we have had a great success rate, and seen a huge improvement in many students who have had various disengagement, self esteem and health issues.
